More about what we do

Summer closing dates

Please note that we are CLOSED from Tuesday 13th August until Thursday 29th August 2024 - reopening Tuesday 3rd September.

Please make an Appointment through this website if you can

We keep very few drop-in spaces for people unable to use the internet. If you do not have an appointment, we may not be able to advise you on that occasion..

We advise people living or working in the City of Westminster and surrounding postcodes.

If you do not live or work in this area, you can still get help:

Find a legal advice clinic near you

We are a charity set up to provide assistance to people on low incomes

We can only advise you if you do not have the means to pay for legal advice

Empowering clients

South Westminster Legal Advice Centre is staffed entirely by volunteers. Our lawyers have a huge breadth of expertise, working as solicitors, barristers, or in-house lawyers for companies or Government departments.

We aim to empower our clients, not to make them dependent on us. We offer free legal advice, both when a dispute has arisen, and in non-contentious matters.

Client stories

Our clients come to us with real problems. The following are a few real examples - names and images have been changed to preserve confidentiality.
