Family Law – help with guardianship

Mr and Mrs Chandra had recently had their granddaughter placed with them, as there were recent sexual assault allegations made against her father which were currently being investigated.

Their 15 year old grand-daughter had a positive relationship with her grandparents, who were her only other relatives in the UK. They were a understandably a little overwhelmed with her sudden arrival and the circumstances, and sought assistance on next steps or any assistance that could be offered.

One of SWLAC’s family lawyers assisted them with making a formal application to become her legal guardians, and they were also sign-posted to two other organisations; one for advice on the additional benefits they may be entitled to and one for emotional support.
