A Volunteer’s Story

"I volunteered with SWLAC for around 2 years and thoroughly enjoyed my experience there. It was an incredibly insightful and rewarding time. In all honesty, I set out to volunteer so as to boost my chances at pupillage interviews, but after my first evening volunteering at SWLAC, I fell in love with it and that is why I did it for as long as I did. My career path has now changed and I am also living too far outside London, so it means that it isn't something I can do any more. My mind constantly wanders to my time at SWLAC. It really is the only time in my life that I feel I was able to properly help people with their difficult situations. An incredible experience. I do wish SWLAC all the best and should I find myself having moved back closer to London, then I will certainly be volunteering again."
